⚠️ Understanding the #PaidSubscription Warning Message on First #WebConsole Access

After completing the #ProxmoxVE #installation and #initialaccess to the #webconsole, you will immediately see a #warningmessage regarding the #Subscription model appear as a #popup

This message appears because while #Proxmox is #opensource, it utilizes a #subscription #model for #commercial #support and #updates

1. #Meaning and #Content of the #WarningMessage



Upon #root login to the #WebGUI, a #popup similar to the following will appear:

A. #Core #Content of the #Warning

  • "You do not have a valid subscription for this server."

  • #Free #Version #Notice: It explicitly states that #ProxmoxVE is #free, and all #features can be #used without a #subscription

  • #Support #Limitation #Notification: It informs you that without a #paid #subscription, you cannot use the #Enterprise #Repository for #updates and cannot receive #official #technicalsupport

B. Why You Should #Understand the #Message

  • This #message is #not an #error and will #not #cause #any #issues with #system #operation

  • It is a #standard #procedure by the #Proxmox #company to #encourage #subscription among #commercial #users to #maintain the #opensource #project
